Developments of the MATRIX Project

The MATRIX intends to continue to undertake the assessments of young people referred to their service, to facilitate workshops, health events, education in a number of settings and various centres and locations, working in partnership with other agencies.

MATRIX position 2004/2005

The MATRIX intends to continue to undertake the assessments of young people referred to their service, to facilitate workshops, health events, education in a number of settings and various centres and locations, working in partnership with other agencies.

MATRIX young people’s project working in partnership, will play a key role in the delivery and implementation of the DAT’s national and locally agreed targets.

This has been a positive and exciting time for the young people’s project in South Tyneside. The priority has been to build on existing provision, developing a wider range of treatment options in response to young people's needs. To continue to be the lead agency in pro active service provision from the development plans of the team that extends current provision that incorporate all of the following:

Provide support to families and carers, including a range of flexible interventions including information and advice.
Partnerships with criminal justice agencies, contribution to the Youth Offending Service offering a wide range of interventions and multidisciplinary work to many people whose substance use has resulted in offending behaviour developing a through care programme incorporating diversionary activities.
To develop further programmes with Connexions services
To increase parental involvement in drugs education
Develop referral pathways and deliver training for professionals working with the targeted groups.
